Brunch @ Greasy Joes Bar and Grill - http://www.greasyjoes.com.au/

Where you have a meal thats not quite breakfast and not quite lunch, you get a marriage of "brunch". Michael and I went to St Kilda for brunch today and boy were we famised by 11.30am. Greasy Joes does breakfast all day and you can choose from muesli, toast, pancakes and the more unhealthy combinations of bacons, sausages and eggs.

Michael ordered the Lot breakfast which came with two eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown, grilled tomatoes, button mushrooms and sourdough toast. I had the Heckel's breakfast where I asked for scrambled eggs and it came with bacon, sausages, fries, baked beans and sourdough toast.

You are all probably wondering what are fries doing on the breakfast menu. I don't know either but I can tell you that they were great. Soft on the inside yet lightly crunchy on the outside. For that reason, I can't wait to try out their burgers one day having seen them being served to other customers. We washed our meals down with freshly squeezed orange juice, and trust me, you will need it as Greasy Joes lives up to its name!

Overall, the servings were HUGE and they were very generous with the bacon. I don't think I've ever been served so much bacon before. We also saw this on the menu > Triple bypass breakfast three eggs, three saussages, three bacon, three hasnbrowns onion rings and porterhouse steak for $23.50. I would love to see someone chow that down and not end up in hospital!
The atmosphere in Greasy Joes is relaxed and hip. There are seating outside, booths and side tables available or theres also the bar in the middle of the restaurant. Keeping us entertained whilst we wait for our meals is a large painted mural that covers a whole wall depicting Luna Park, the guy with the bike on the pole, and other frequenters in the area. Its also good to know that we are watched by surfy Jesus with his surfboard who is amongst the crowd in St Kilda.

Verdict: Our meals excluding the juice were under $15 each and I would go back again but not too soon in the near future. This would make a great place to visit after a night of heavy partying, or just to satisfy a craving for some comfort food.
